Welcome to a Virtual Taste Washington!

As we all know, Taste Washington, the country’s largest single region wine event, was cancelled this year due to the outbreak of COVID-19. This weekend, we’ll be bringing you a taste of Taste Washington by posting information about some of the wineries that were planning to participate. This information was requested and collated by the Washington State Wine Commission, and is being shared in partnership with their ‘A Taste of (Taste) Washington’ digital showcase on various social media channels (InstagramFacebookTwitterNew Epicenter site).

Wineries were asked: 1) How would you describe Washington wine in one word? You will see that word at the beginning of most of the posts below. 2) What makes you / your wine unique? They were also asked about promotional programs they were running. Below are some of their responses. This is not a comprehensive list of all wineries that were planning to participate. Just a taste. More to follow throughout the weekend.

Sunday night we’ll also be doing a ‘Virtual Grand Tasting’ on FacebookTwitter, and Instagram, drinking wines from 2020 Taste participants (see list here) starting at 6:30pm Pacific. Join us!

Rocky Pond Winery

Lifestyle. Rocky Pond Estate Winery produces high quality, premium Washington State wines that are the product of our deep commitment to innovative and sustainable farming of our riverside, estate vineyards. Deeply rooted in the soils of the geological wonder of the Columbia River Valley, our wines are deliciously balanced and reflect the character of this special place

Sagemoor Vineyards

Worthy. When the founders of Sagemoor made their plantings in 1972, they had determination, plenty of grit, and about 400 acres of vines. Today, their plantings have expanded to encompass more than 1,100 acres with five distinct vineyards: Sagemoor, Bacchus, Dionysus, Gamache, and Weinbau. Sagemoor sells grapes to over 100 wineries in WA and began making wine in 2014 through collaborative winemaking partnerships with John Abbott of Devona, Chris Peterson of Avennia, and Ali Mayfield.  The Sagemoor wines are a tribute to the hard work of the original partners and the employees who nurture the vineyards today. The legacy of Sagemoor lives through our employees, winery partnerships and Sagemoor wine. www.selectionsbysagemoor.com

Seven Hills Winery

Community. Established in 1988, Seven Hills Winery is proud to be among the founding estates of Walla Walla Valley. As pioneers who first championed the region, our heritage is built on longstanding relationships with the most renowned growers in the Northwest and a deep knowledge of the land. Our focus is crafting Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon-based wines that authentically reflect their places of origin.

Sigillo Cellars

Remarkable. After years of winemaking for friends and family, Mike and Ryan Seal, along with childhood friend Scott Hussey, founded Sigillo Cellars in 2010. With the belief that Washington wine should be experienced, not just tasted, we have put together a portfolio of Bordeaux and Rhône varietals, plus other favorites available, to be shared in either of our beautiful historic tasting rooms in Snoqualmie, WA and Chelan, WA. Don’t just taste wine, Experience it.

Sin Banderas

Virtuosity. We are a passion-driven group of worldly friends who sought out to make small-batch boutique wine. Hailing from all over the world, our group combines culture, experience, and creativity to produce unique, captivating products.  Sin Banderas means “without flags” in Spanish. Not only does this represent our winery partnership, but reflects an ideal mindset of respect, compassion, and inclusion in a time when it’s needed most.

Siren Song Wines

Diverse: our climate and terroir provides for a wide range of fabulous varietals from floral whites to bold reds, beautiful rose’s and sparkling wines.  Our creative wine makers have an abundance to work with not just in terms of varietals, but also beautiful blends that show off the inspiration and intention of the winemaker. The term Siren Song reflects the idea of a “calling,” an “irresistible attraction,” or a “deep desire.” For Holly and Kevin Brown, their “calling” is to make wines that reflect their world travels together. A unique and personal story inspires every wine varietal and blend. They also believe that wine is meant to be enjoyed with food. Their tasting room doubles as a restaurant. At Siren Song you sit down, and are served your tasting at a comfortable table while you take in the gorgeous view of Lake Chelan with some hand crafted food. We believe everybody has a Siren Song. What’s Yours?

Sol Stone Winery

Community. We thought when we started a winery it would be all about the wine.  We’ve discovered through our wine club, fellow wineries and vineyards that it’s more about the friendships and relationships both business and personal.

Terra Blanca

Elegant. Set on 300 acres of Red Mountain soil, we do everything from vine to bottle right here on our estate. We are in full control every step of the way, allowing us to produce a wine that showcases what makes the unique Red Mountain terroir so special.

Tertulia Cellars

Diversity. Tertulia is focused on celebrating “Diversity” every day.  Our program is focused on celebrating our 3 unique Estate vineyards & terroirs in every vintage. From the sandy silty soils of the Whistling Hills, to the basalt lined cliffs of Elevation Vineyard and including the Stones of Riviere Galets Vineyard.  Every bottle has its mission.  Lead by R2 (Ryan Raber, Winemaker & Ryan Driver, Vineyard Manager) this program is now celebrating 15 years with their Circle of Friends and looking forward to a month long celebration of Washington Wine Month, followed by the inaugural Walla Walla Wine Month in April. Tertulia Cellars focus is “Elegantly approachable wines for the sophisticated palate”. We practice careful control with consistency and sustainability from Grape to Glass.  We continue that philosophy to our guest experience in all three of our locations throughout the Pacific NW. Always understanding that it is the relationships and the wine that tell the true story of who we are.  Tertulia, your Circle of Friends.

Three Rivers

Expressive. When you visit the winery, you’ll find a friendly inviting space for wine enthusiasts and families alike. We offer casual tastings and relaxing outdoor spaces as well as formal experiences that we can tailor to your liking. The wines are expressive and tell stories of the place they were grown and time they were created.
