Sean Sullivan was named a 2024 Wine Industry Leader by WineBusiness Monthly. It reads, “Sean Sullivan’s Northwest Wine Report is the first place you look for news on the wine business in the Pacific Northwest. For 20 years, he has been reviewing wines, interviewing key players and covering the highs and lows of the area. Over the last 24 months, he has been the first to break news on Ste. Michelle Wine Estates, the largest wine company in the PNW, always providing readers with unbiased and crucial context about the ramifications and effects it could have on the region.”
Sullivan was named a 2024 SIPfluencer by Sip Magazine. It reads, “Seattle-based writer Sean P. Sullivan started his Northwest Wine Report in 2004 as an email periodical – then called the Washington Wine Report – that eventually transitioned into a full website. The award-winning report offers in-depth coverage of the wines and wineries of the Pacific Northwest, from news features to blind-tasting wine reviews, and has become a trusted resource for wine enthusiasts. Over the past 20 years, Sullivan has also served as a contributing editor and wine reviewer for Wine Enthusiast, and his byline has appeared in such publications as Seattle Metropolitan, Washington Tasting Room, and Hugh Johnson’s Pocket Wine Book. Likewise, he has worked as an adiunct instructor at the Walla Walla Community College’s Institute of Enology and Viticulture and has been interviewed in outlets like the Oregon Wine Press and Wine Industry Advisor. Sullivan has also been a wine judge – promoting the region’s vintners to drinkers worldwide as a subject expert.”
Sean P. Sullivan received a TOAST! Award in 2022 as ‘Wine Industry Champion’ from the Auction of Washington Wines. This award, which Sullivan was the inaugural recipient of, is given to “A non-industry professional whose cooperative support has positively influenced the success of the Washington wine industry, including members of the media, retail, wholesale, legistlative/regulatory, or hospitality sectors.” The award reads “In recognition of your service and in honor of your contribution to the Washington wine industry.” Recipients were nominated and final selections were made by a judging committee of industry peers.
