Subscribers to Northwest Wine Report have access to a searchable database of wine reviews. This database is accessible through the Reviews-> Wine Search menu.

The first type of search available is a Basic Search. You may type in a winery or wine name and get a set of results. The number of results will be listed after the search is executed. In this particular example, I am searching for the winery “Grosgrain.” 39 results are returned.

You may also search for a winery or wine name and a specific vintage. In this particular example I am searching for “Grosgrain 2021.” Seven results are returned.

In each case, click on the highlighted winery name to see the review.

This shows full details about the wine. From here you can either Return to Search Results or Start a New Search. You can also click on the hyperlinked text to read additional information about the Rating system used, Closure type, and Home Region. Note that some reviews show the five star system (*****) used at Washington Wine Report, the prior name of this site, from 2004 to 2014. Click on “Rating” for a full explanation.

The second type of search available is accessed by clicking on Advanced Filter. The Advanced Filter can be used independently of or in conjunction with the Basic Search.

With the Advanced Filter, you can search/filter based on Wine Type, Variety, State/Province, Appellation, Special Designation, Vintage, Rating, Review Date, or Home Region, Price, and/or Case Production. All of these may be used in combination.

For example, you could search for all of the Cabernet Sauvignon reviewed from the 2020 vintage.

You can increasingly refine the filter to, say, look for all the Cabernet Sauvignon from the 2020 vintage from the Horse Heaven Hills appellation.

IMPORTANT: When using the Advanced Filter, the filter remains in place until you click on “Reset Filter” or “Start New Search.” Note that if you do not reset the Advanced Filter, this will lead to increasingly filtered results. Additionally, resetting the Advanced Filter may require reopening the filter as shown below.

Note that new reviews are loaded into the search database approximately one month after the reviews are published under the “Wine Reviews” menu.
