Okay folks, preliminary voting has closed for the Reader Survey 2009 Wine of the Year and 2010 Wine to Watch. We will now move on to final voting.

For preliminary voting, everyone could select three wines in each category. For final voting, everyone can select only one wine in each category from the list of finalists. To reiterate, the 2009 Wine of the Year is intended for the one Washington wine in 2009 that stood out among those you tasted. The 2010 Wine to Watch is for a wine you tasted that will be released in 2010 that you believe will be exceptional. Voting will be open until 9pm Wednesday December 16th.

Before getting to the list of finalists, let me say that this was a terrific list of wines nominated this year, and my thanks again to readers who sent in nominations. To determine finalists, I selected wines in each category that received 10% or more of the votes cast. For 2009 Wine of the Year, 508 votes were cast. Four wines received more than ten percent of the votes. For 2010 Wine to Watch, 266 votes were cast. Five wines received more than ten percent of the votes. These wines are listed below. The vote totals and percentages for all nominees are listed at the bottom of the post.
