August has historically been dedicated “Washington Wine Month” by the state liquor stores. This is not to be confused with March which many retailers list as “Washington Wine Month” in advance of April’s Taste of Washington. In the past this designation has meant state liquor stores discount Washington wines, in some cases dramatically. Some retailers have joined in this as well. However, this year, Andy Perdue writes for the Tacoma Tribune – on July 31st I might add – that the state has decided to postpone “Washington Wine Month” until September. Apparently there were problems with the distribution and computer systems. Perhaps it was the record setting heat?
