Quilceda Creek Cabernet – perhaps Washington’s most coveted wine – will be a little harder to come by for the 2006 vintage. Due lower production, the winery decreased mailing list member allocations from 12 bottles to 10 bottles for this vintage. As is customary, the winery also increased the price slightly from $115 per bottle to $125. No word yet what the reason was for the lower production. The 2006 Cabernet will be released in the third week of April.

Quilceda Creek’s 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon was my wine of the year and also came in first in our reader survey. This was the winery’s third vintage in the last four years to receive a perfect 100 point rating from Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate.
