Mark Ryan is closing its Walla Walla tasting room at the end of September. The winery will continue to have its production facility in Walla Walla and a tasting room in Woodinville.

“We opened in Walla Walla 14 years ago, and we’ve had an incredible run there,” owner and founder Mark McNeilly told Northwest Wine Report. “I want to give a heartfelt thank you to Walla Walla.”

While its Walla Walla tasting room is closing, Mark Ryan, will continue to have a consumer-facing presence in the town. Going forward, the winery will hold release events at the Drayman House twice per year.

“We’re still going to have a commitment to Walla Walla,” McNeilly says. Club members who traditionally pick up wines in Walla Walla will also have the option to receive free shipping for one year.

Founded in 1999 and a long-time Woodinville Warehouse District winery, Mark Ryan is one of Washington wine’s biggest success stories, growing to produce over 100,000 cases annually across several brands. The winery opened its satellite tasting room in downtown Walla Walla in 2012. It was the first Woodinville-based winery to do so. The winery later moved production there.

In subsequent years, other Woodinville wineries followed suit, including Barons, Guardian, and Patterson. Mark Ryan even opened a short-lived tasting room in Walla Walla for its Board Track Racer brand, as the winery and others looked to take advantage of the region’s vibrant wine tourism.
