45 wines reviewed below, including the latest from Alki, Aubaine, Badger Mountain, Caliche, Cimento, Clos Clavier, Devison, Karvalé, Lydian, Lytle-Barnett, Milbrandt, Ryan Patrick, and Soos Creek.

There are an impressive number of truly exciting wines reviewed below. First, if you’re looking to be convinced that Willamette Valley sparkling wine can go toe-to-toe with top quality traditional method sparklers from elsewhere in the world, look no further than Lytle-Barnett. The wines are across-the-board outstanding.

Meanwhile, Lytle-Barnett’s sister winery, Aubaine, impresses with a set of Willamette Valley Chardonnays and Pinot Noirs, including some outstanding values. Aubaine is a winery on the way up.

Cimento makes the case that The Rocks District of Milton-Freewater is about much more than Syrah and Grenache, which to date have garnered most of the consumer and critical attention. The winery offers a stellar Cabernet Sauvignon from this appellation as well as compelling white Rhône varieties and blends.

Devison continues to operate on a higher qualitative plane than all but a few Washington wineries. The new releases are among the best wines to come out of the Columbia Valley this year, or, frankly, any year.

Winemaker Peter Devison is also consulting winemaker for a new Walla Walla Valley winery, Clos Clavier. Clos Clavier’s inaugural red and white wine are reviewed below. Both are very much worth seeking out.

Without further ado.
