The Burdoin fire is currently affecting the Washington side of the Columbia River Gorge in Klickitat County. As of 7 p.m. Sunday night, the fire was estimated at approximately 8,800 acres with 0% containment.
The town of Lyle, Washington is currently under Level 3 “Go Now” orders to immediately evacuate. Lyle is home to several wineries, including Syncline, Cor, and Domaine Pouillon. Syncline posted about the fire on its Facebook page at 2:34 a.m. Saturday morning. Lyle had a population of 321 people as of 2023 according to Census Reporter.
KGW8 reports that 14 homes have been consumed by fire and another 37 have been damaged. An estimated 250 structures are at risk.
According to reports, the fire started Friday, June 18th at approximately 2:30 p.m. in the Bingen/Lyle area. The Oregonian states that the fire started near Courtney Road and Highway 14 milepost 68.

UPDATE 9:00 p.m Sunday: Shortly after 8 p.m. this evening, Syncline posted the following to Facebook:
“Thank you all for the love and concern-it means the world! Quick update: Syncline, COR, and many of our neighbors homes are safe and standing **All roads into Lyle remain closed and are at level 3 evacuation** to support fire crews. We’re endlessly grateful to the first responders working so hard to protect our community. Stay safe, and we’ll share more soon!”
