Adams Bench and friends, perhaps family, sure have been busy. Voting that is.
ReplyDeleteWe got some ballot box stuffing here?
ReplyDeleteAnyone else get a little Brett on those Reynvaan wines?
ReplyDeleteNot saying I didn't like 'em, just saying...
yeah we do.....this poll is a joke
ReplyDeleteSo Anonymous...."This poll is a joke". Sure it is. It is unscientific and subject to opinion of the small number of readers, friends, family, fans and customers of the wineries that may or may not have made the list which in itself is subjective because it was chosen by the blogger himself. As far as ballot stuffing, I am pretty sure it only lets one vote once, unless you know something different.
ReplyDeleteActually Todd, the list is NOT chosen by Sean, but by his readers who submit nominations. Is it a scientific foolproof survey, no. Is it something Sean's reader's seem to enjoy, yes.
ReplyDeleteI stand corrected, Chris. I enjoy the blog. I enjoyed voting in the poll. I would also to think that wine is for enjoyment as well. I just don't see a reason to disparage any of the wineries in the poll. Did the wineries I voted for finish in the Top Three? No, but I don't think any less of them or choose to disparage those that did, as Anonymous(if that is even your real name...;))has chosen to do . As far as Brett in the Reynvaan, I only wish that I had the chance to find out for myself as I have read nothing but good things and have not (yet!) had the opportunity to taste their wines.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
i personally will choose the winners on thursday
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of ballot stuffing, has the '08 In The Rocks been released yet? I am anxious to taste it too but that seems a bit much for a Wine of the Year....just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteI nominated the 08 In The Rocks, and I did taste it. (I'm not sure that everyone tasted what they voted for.) Wine of the Year, that's hard to say, but it was definitely one of the most memorable wines I had this year. I didn't notice brett, but it was a wildly complex, slightly stinky nose.
ReplyDeleteThe 2008 Reynvaan In the Rocks is definitely a current release having come out in November. However, it appears that on the 2011 Wine to Watch, the Grand Reve Collaboration Series V 2008 may have been released in November. My apologies for not catching this (tried to check on all but information is often difficult to come by).
ReplyDeleteThe Grand Reve V Grenache by Chris Gorman was released in November. Really great wine though.
