This month marks the beginning of the third year of Northwest Wine Report as a subscription-based site. I started formally taking subscriptions June 14th 2023.
So today I want to take a moment to thank all of the people who have subscribed. I particularly want to thank those of you who subscribed at the beginning and who took the leap of faith with me.
As I have written previously, when making the transition from freelance writing to earning my income from a subscription-based site, I gave it very little chance of success. I fully expected that in short order I would have to close the site down and move on to other things.
So I just want to say how grateful I am for your support. This site quite literally would not exist without each and every person who has subscribed. It would not exist without you.
Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart. I can’t really find words to say how much it means to me.
To those who have not yet subscribed, I urge you to do so. The continuation of this site is by no means assured. By going from freelancing to a subscription-based site, I went from a hunter-gatherer existence to subsistence living. It is easier, but it is by no means easy.
This site is also subject to the same forces that are impacting the broader wine industry and the country. That presents serious challenges for what is a very small business. I can only keep this site going if I have enough financial support through subscriptions.
So, if you haven’t already, please subscribe now. It really is the only way that this site will be able to continue.
Well done Sean
Thanking people and expressing gratitude is not only important, it is an imperative in your business
Best wishes
Aloha Sean,
Nothing but praise for the work you continue to put out. We enjoy and appreciate the focused attention you bring to the entire breadth of the NW wine industry and arts. Especially the personal pieces, which are always interesting and insightful.
Congratulations on entering three years!

You taught me everything I know. How could I not support you?
What a lovely message Sean. Huge congratulations on your success! What you’re doing matters.
To all those “lurkers” out there using the site:
