Grosgrain Blush Rosé Walla Walla Valley 2022
This is a blend of Grenache (86%) and Carignan, with the former including the first fruit from the winery’s estate vineyard in the SeVein project along with fruit from Blue Mountain. The Carignan comes from the winery’s Old Milton Vineyard. Fermented in stainless steel (40%), neutral barrel (38%), and concrete, it’s pale peach colored. The aromas show some initial reduction, belying the wine’s youth. Beyond that are notes of whole orange, strawberry, lanolin, and wet stone. Light, bright flavors follow, with a tart, cleansing acidity on the finish. It’s delicious, well-suited on its own or at the dinner table. Decant if still reduced.
