Fruit for this wine comes from blocks 98 and 14 at the winery's estate vineyard. Aged 36 months in oak, unsettled, muted-seeming aromas of date, smoke, and currant lead to fuller feeling, lightly smoky flavors. There's good fruit and winemaking, but smoke from the vintage appears to get into the way.
